🌟 2025 State of Origin Wrap-Up 🌟
What an incredible day at Melrose Park on Saturday – and what a community effort! 💙❤️
🙌 To the coaches – Shankar, Matt, Adam, Justin, Tom & Matt – thank you for volunteering your time and expertise. Without you, we simply wouldn’t have had the teams we did out on the park, and those two thrilling games of football wouldn’t have been possible.
⚽ To the players – thank you for trusting coaches who may not have been your usual mentors, stepping up to play alongside in-season rivals, and in some cases even lining up against your own teammates. You embraced the spirit of the event, put on a fantastic display of football, and most importantly – we hope you had fun!
🟨 To the AWSRA referees – a huge thank you for donating your match fees and being part of the day to ensure the games were run at the highest level.
🏟️ To Melrose FC, Josh & Bec – thank you for being our 2025 hosts. The park looked amazing, and the atmosphere was absolutely buzzing!
📺 To AIS – thank you for livestreaming the games and allowing those who couldn’t make it to still be part of the action.
📸 To Paige from Game Time Glimpse – thanks for capturing the magic of the day with photos we’ll cherish.
🎁 To Meat Talk, Photography, and Lita Barrott – your generous raffle prize donations were incredible. And to our raffle crew, who worked tirelessly for weeks at MiniRoos and again on game day – together you raised over $4,000!
To Premier Building & Construction for their very generous sponsorship of the 2025 and 2026 State of Origin Kits!
💚 To the clubs – Albury United, Wodonga Heart, Albury Hotspurs, Wodonga Diamonds, St Pats & Melrose – your donations were instrumental in this year’s fundraising. Hopefully, all clubs can get behind this event again in 2026.

Finally, to the entire AWFA community – thank you. We are so lucky to be surrounded by people who rally behind a good cause and give so generously of their time, energy, and support. This event simply couldn’t happen without you.
✨ And now for the big news… together, we didn’t just beat last year’s total of $5400, we smashed it and went beyond our 2025 goal. This year’s State of Origin raised an incredible $10,266 for the Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre! 💛
