AWFA Representatives

Background

AWFA has administered a successful Representative program since 1974, with teams ranging from U11 to U16. These teams have over 250 participants who are selected throughout a trialing process held during October and November each year.

Our Representative Program offers an opportunity for players to gain access to further pathways to continue their footballing journey, as well as having access to the best coaching and development in the Albury-Wodonga area. Our teams attend several tournaments throughout NSW and Victoria, including but not limited to tournaments in Bathurst, Geelong, and Shepparton.

TECHNICAL DIRECTORS

In 2023, AWFA took a significant step forward in strengthening its Representative Program by appointing two Technical Directors, This initiative was designed to streamline development, enhance performance, and ensure the program aligned with AWFA’s long-term goals and standards.

Both Mick and Fiona brought extensive experience in football coaching, player development, and program management. With their shared passion for the game and commitment to nurturing talent, they worked to raise the standard of the representative program and contributed greatly to the growth of football within the region.

From 2025/26, AWFA is excited to welcome Dave Richards as the new Technical Director. Dave, our 2025 Rep Coach of the Year, has been actively involved in the program for several years. He is eager to build on the foundation laid by Mick and Fiona and take the program to the next level.
