Record Crowds and High-Stakes Matches Define 2025 AWFA Cup Finals

Under clear blue skies and in front of a vibrant crowd, the Albury Wodonga Football Association (AWFA) proudly hosted its flagship event—the 2025 Cup Finals—on Saturday, 6th September at the Lavington Sports Ground. The day was a celebration of community, competition, and the passion for football that runs deep throughout the region.

With over 2,000 spectators lining the sidelines and more than 450 players representing clubs from across the association, the atmosphere was electric. Thirteen Cup Finals were held across three immaculately prepared fields, each match showcasing the skill, determination, and sportsmanship of AWFA’s finest.

The finals featured the best teams from each division, ensuring a high calibre of competition across all age groups and categories—from junior boys and girls to senior men’s and women’s divisions, including the Over 35s and All Abilities match. Every game was fiercely contested, reflecting the hard work and dedication of players, coaches, and clubs throughout the season.

The event not only highlighted the depth of talent within AWFA but also reinforced the association’s commitment to inclusivity and development across all levels of the game. From grassroots juniors to seasoned veterans, the Cup Finals were a true showcase of football excellence in the Albury Wodonga region

From Pitch to Screen: AWFA Cup Finals Reach Global Audience via Livestream

In a first for AWFA, all Cup Final matches were livestreamed through a partnership with All In Sports, allowing families and fans from around the world to tune in. With over 2,700 views across all grades, the initiative was hailed as a major success in promoting regional football and expanding AWFA’s reach.
