BACKGROUND

Albury Wodonga Football Association has a strong history of development programs for youth and junior players in the border area. These programs include all ages from Roo Ball initiative through to the National Youth League team known as the 'Warriors'.

WHY WE DO IT

The association maintains a development program to enable players to represent themselves at the highest possible level without leaving the region. Additionally this program provides a focal point for the development of regional players and and facilitates their progression at representative level in conjunction with local Centre of Excellence/Zone programmes.

Through these development programs the association is able maintain a regional public presence which is marketable by the association. All of these facets combine to provide the long term development and security of the association.

HOW WE DO IT

Shortly after the completion of each domestic season the executive of Albury Wodonga Football Association will call for applications for Representative coaches for the ensuing season. Once all applications have been received the executive will appoint the coaches to the respective teams.

Each representative coach, with the exception of the Under 11 coach, will then nominate selection trial dates and venues at which the representative squads will be selected. The association Vice President Representatives will coordinate the invitation of all eligible association members to these selection trials. The Under 11 coach will utilise the Roo Ball program as the selection trials for the Under 11 representative team.

The cost of all representative programs is jointly met by the individuals players and the association.
